While I would love to be able to offer-up some slightly poetic prose regaring this project, the truth is. . . I got bored!
Early in 2011, I was feeling a complete and total lack of any creative spark. In-order to overcome this, I decided I would paint. Everyday. No real thought; Didn't have a plan for most of the pieces. At one time I attempted to make a list of what I would paint on each day (I even had "subjects" for each month that I want to focus on.) I think I stuck to the list for all of three days. The initial objective had been to do a painting each day for a year. I did it for three or for months, decided that I learned what I needed to learn from the experience and moved-on.
The pieces in this gallery are the paintings from "365" that I deemed to be "successful." Again, there was no rhyme or reason to this project other than to create a new piece of artwork everyday. Do not expect anything even kind of close to "cohesive" in what you are about to see. It could be that the only thing holding these paintings together as a group is the fact that I painted them!
While most of these paintings do have titles, I have not listed them here. Nor have I listed their sizes. I can tell you that they are all oil and comparatively small in relation to the rest of my work. I didn't bother with any of the information above, because I honestly felt like the information was not relevant to the pieces. As another artist I know like to say (alot,) "It is what it is."
Enjoy!
