About Kate Boone

From a very young age Kate has enjoyed painting. She first began at the age of 14 after some particularly painful moments in her life. She found painting to be therapeutic and a great outlet for some of her thoughts.

At that time, Kate primarily painted reproductions of artists she admired, such as Georgia O'Keefe, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. This odd mix led Kate to a style uniquely her own. A style she likes to refer to as "folkish surrealism."

Kate grew and had children and married. Her painting was set aside and much forgotten for nearly a decade.

Facing another set of bad circumstances at the age of 28, she again picked-up her brush as a coping mechanism.

After several years of painting for sheer pleasure, she decided to pursue a career with her art and enrolled in classes to pursue a graphic design degree.

Now graduated, Kate has worked several freelance jobs while continuing to focus on her painting. She has had some success locally and hopes to continue to grow and strengthen in her craft.
